When growing up I spend a lot of time with my mother trying different crafts. My mother were a real artisan in different hand crafted techniques like birch bark weaving. I was fascinated of how we harvested the birch bark and how beautiful it was. She also had a favorite birch tree besides a road we often passed. I remember when she saw it the first time and she exclaimed “look! It looks like a fairy tale tree!”  It was quite small and very white. I still think about it passing the same tree today 40 years later.
